Connecting your Discord account lets us automatically grant you the Alchemist role on the official Alchemy Discord server while your subscription is active. It's a one-click setup, and you can disconnect any time.
Before you start
You'll need:
An active Alchemist subscription. (We use this to decide which Discord role to give you.)
A Discord account that's already a member of the Alchemy Discord server. If you're not a member yet, jump in there first.
How to connect
Open Alchemy in your browser or desktop app and click your avatar in the bottom-left to open your profile.
Scroll down to the Discord section, just below Account Settings.
Find the Connect Discord row and click CONNECT.
You'll be sent over to Discord, where it'll ask you to authorize Alchemy. Click Authorize.
Discord will bounce you back to Alchemy. You'll see a "Discord connected!" confirmation, and your Discord username will appear in the Connect Discord row.
That's it. Within a few seconds, the Alchemist role will show up on your Discord profile on the Alchemy Discord server. You'll have access to a special Alchemists 🧪 category of channels where you can chat with other Alchemists, attend exclusive live streams with the team, and other perks.
How to disconnect
Same place: your profile → Discord section → Connect Discord row.
Click DISCONNECT.
Your Alchemist role will be removed from the Discord server and the connection will be cleared from your account. You're free to reconnect later or with a different Discord account.
What happens behind the scenes
We only ask Discord for your username and ID. We don't read your messages, friends list, or anything else about your Discord account.
Your Alchemist role is granted automatically as long as your subscription is active.
If your subscription lapses, the role is removed automatically. If you renew, it comes back.
You can join and leave the Alchemy Discord server whenever you like; the role will be there waiting whenever you're a member.
Common questions
My subscription is active but the role didn't appear.
Make sure you're actually a member of the Alchemy Discord server (we can't grant a role to someone who isn't in the server). Then try disconnecting and reconnecting from your profile. If it still doesn't appear, drop us a line via the support chat on Alchemy.
I don't have an active subscription. Can I still connect?
Not yet. Connecting is a perk of being an Alchemist. Subscribe and the CONNECT button will activate automatically.
Will the bot post anything in my DMs or the server?
No. Our Discord bot only manages roles. It never sends messages.
