This Article is still a Work In Progress! If you have any questions or would like clarification on anything ping @Dan Munoz on the Alchemy Discord!
The Game tab offers a variety of options for you to apply to your In-Game experience. You can customize every one of these options on a Per-Sheet basis, making each and every Sheet in your game, when played, extra unique!
The Game Tab is brand new and is undergoing some major updates and improvements! There are still a lot of features that are currently locked but expected to arrive soon!
β
Again please remember that this option is currently in Open BETA and bugs are still to be expected. If you encounter a bug in the Game Tab, please leave us feedback in our Discord under the #sys-bld-bugs channel or by using our in app Help Chat Bubble on the bottom right of the screen!
Where to find the Game Tab
The Game Tab can be found by clicking the name of your Universe on the top left of your screen while within your Universe.
Once you click that name, a dropdown will appear. Click on the System option.
This will activate the System Builder portion of your Universe and is where Game Tab lives as well as other features such as the SHEET, DICE, and THEME tabs.

Navigating the Game Tab
Currently there are only a few things you can accomplish while within the Game Tab, but they ultimately are some of the most powerful assets you'll use in creating a customized game experience.
Character Sheet
On the top left you'll see the Character Sheet dropdown. Here, you'll be able to select from a list of either a PC or NPC Sheet that you've made prior in the Sheet potion of System Builder.
If you haven't done so already, we highly suggest building a Sheet with the help of our Sheet Builder Help Article here: https://help.alchemyrpg.com/en/articles/11050124-sheet-builder
Note that this dropdown will only populate with options once a Custom Sheet has been created.
Game Panels
The rest of the Game Tab is centered around the different customizable options within each panel in the In-Game experience. Eventually all of these panels will have options for you to make your In-Game Panels extremely unique. These panels include:
Journal
Notes
Party
NPC
Watchers
Skills (Currently Functional)
Actions
Equipment
Trackers
Handouts
Soon you'll be able to Move, Rename, and even Remove certain panels from your In-Game experience!
Let's go over the one panel we have access to currently: Skills
Skills Panel
The Skills Panel has the ability to power your sheets and make all the Custom Attributes and Skills that you've placed on your Sheets mechanically rollable!
If you are not seeing anything in the box shown above, it's likely that the sheet you have selected on the top left in the Character Sheet dropdown does not have any Attributes or Skills Blocks within them. You can either choose another Sheet that does have Attributes or Skills or navigate back to the SHEET tab; properly add an Attributes or Skills Block on the Sheet; then come back to this section to see, now, that it's been populated with one or both of the options above.
Create Action
The Create Action buttons for both the Attributes and Skills portion of this panel do the same thing for either choice with the main difference only being what portion of the In-Game interface to interact with.
By creating an Action for Attributes, you'll be activating a specific Right-Click menu for when you Right-Click any of your Attributes. The same functionality applies for Skills. We'll be going over the several ways to implement rolling in your game!
Left-Click Action
Every Action you create within the Create Action section becomes a selection within the Right-Click menu in the In-Game Experience (pictured below), however, the FIRST Action, at the top of the list, is set to be the 'default Action' if the user simply Left-Clicks the respective Attribute or Skill and then rolls. So in the example below, "Roll" would be the singular Left-Click Roll Action. If a user Left-Clicks an Attribute and clicks the Accept button at the bottom of the screen, the "Roll" Action will automatically be used.

Creating a system Roll Action for Attributes ONLY
Type - Once you click Create Action under the Attributes section, you'll either want to create a Dice Roll or a Dice Pool Action.
Dice Roll
Name - You can Name the Roll whatever you'd like. This is what will show once the Attribute is Right-Clicked.
Description - You can place a Description here. If you do, when a user clicks the resulting roll in the Journal, along with the roll information, the text within the Description Box will be displayed in a pop-up modal.
βDice Roll - Within the Roll Action you'll set the number and type of dice to roll. In this case, the user will roll 1d6 and then the value within the Attribute clicked will be added to the total in the Journal Card once it's rolled.
Bonus - A bonus modifier can be added here. This is great if the Action you're creating represents something like a base roll with Help, Advantage, Gear bonuses, etc.
This can ALSO be a negative modifier. (First type in the number, then click in front of the number and type in the "-" symbol. You can also use your up and down arrows on your keyboard to increment the numbers by 1 either positive or negative. This is great if the Action you're creating represents something like a base roll with Disadvantage, A Negative Condition, Situational Detriment etc.
This Bonus is not meant to be adjustable. This is a permanent modifier applied to this specific System Roll Action.
Dice Roll Bonus Examples:
Dice Value = 1d6
Attribute Value = 5
Bonus = 3
Total Rolled = 1d6 + 8
Dice Value = 1d6
Attribute Value = 5
Bonus = -1
Total Rolled = 1d6 + 4
You'll want to ignore many things in the Action Builder when creating these system rolls. You'll Ignore the following.
The Options tab up top. This is meant only for use with Universe Actions.
The Attribute and Skill Dropdowns. Placing any selection here will change the System Action logic. Instead of dynamically pulling the information from the Attribute chosen, it will instead pull from whatever is selected in these dropdowns no matter what Attribute is selected.
The Hide Roll Total toggle should remain off as the Journal Card will not show the Attribute being added to the roll total and be hidden within the modal when you click the Journal Card.

Dice Pool
Setting up a Dice Pool is exactly the same as setting one up within Universe Actions with one difference.
The Attributes and Skill Dropdowns are again left Blank, this will ensure that the information is being dynamically pulled from each Attribute selected.
The area to leave blank in order to Dynamically pull the Value from a clicked Attribute.
Dice Roll - You'll set the type of dice to roll. In this case, the user will roll 1d6 for EACH point in an Attribute Value. The Attribute Value matching the number of dice rolled in the Dice Pool.
Bonus - A bonus modifier can be added here. This modifier affects the number of Dice in the Pool and is not a direct numerical modifier.
Dice Pool Bonus Examples:
Dice Value = d6
Attribute Value = 5
Bonus = 3
Total Dice Rolled = 8d6
Dice Value = d6
Attribute Value = 5
Bonus = -1
Total Dice Rolled = 4d6
