Inviting Players by Invitation Link
Once the gamemaster creates their new game, they are prompted to invite their players.
This dialogue box presents the gamemaster with a web URL unique to their game. When a signed in player navigates to that link, they will be automatically added to the game and presented with the modal to create a new character. To distribute this link, the gamemaster can simply click the chain icon to copy the link to their clipboard and then send that link to their players.
Inviting Players by Username
If the gamemaster would rather invite their players directly to the game, all they need is their player's Alchemy username. With that information for each player, the gamemaster can select the 'Add Players' button in the same dialogue box mentioned previously and they will see a screen with additional information and options.
On this screen, the gamemaster can begin typing in the usernames of their players into the field with the 'Add player by username' placeholder text. Usernames will auto populate and are invited by clicking that player's 'Invite' button. Once invited, that player is automatically added to the game. Once added, a gamemaster can select whether they would like that player to remain a player or assign them the role of gamemaster instead. This is useful when gamemasters are looking to co-GM together or if someone else may be running the game temporarily.
A player invited by their username can navigate to their library to see their new game. Once they enter that game for the first time, they will be prompted to create a new character.
Navigating to This Page If a gamemaster ever needs to navigate back to this screen, they can select the settings button to the left of the Floating Action Button in their main view, select the 'Edit Game' option, and navigate to the 'Players' tab in the modal. |
Removing Players from the Game
Sometimes, players may be added to a game they should not be in. If this happens, removing them is a quick process. When editing a game, the gamemaster can navigate to the 'Players' tab and next to the player they wish to remove, simply select the field where the user is labeled as a 'Player' and click the 'Remove' option in that menu to immediately remove them from the game.
