Alchemy provides dedicated support for many popular TTRPG systems. With this said, it would be a daunting feat to provide dedicated support for every single system that has ever been created. Fortunately, custom games enable anyone to create a game where they can label custom attributes, skills, features, and more on characters to run systems without dedicated support in Alchemy.

What Are Custom Games?
Custom games are just like any other Alchemy game. They contain universe content, scenes, combat encounters, and other core features of the platform. The main difference is that character sheets within custom games and universes are very free-form. The fields within these character sheets use broad system-agnostic terms for the different types of information that can be contained within them. Further, specific abilities and skills can be customized to fit any particular system.
Creating a Custom Game
To create a custom game, simply follow the steps for creating any game in Alchemy, but select 'Custom' for the game's system. Then, once all of the players have been invited to and have joined the game, they will be prompted to create their character.
For a full walkthrough of creating characters in custom games, see the 'Custom Game Characters' section of the 'Creating a Character' article. This section explains every field in the character creation modal at length. Once each player has created their character, they are all set to play!
A Note on Custom Game Attributes When a gamemaster is creating a custom game universe, they may run into some limitations when creating some objects. For instance, when creating a dice roll action on an item, the gamemaster will be unable to select a character's attribute to modify the dice roll. Instead, they can create the item as best they can in the universe, enter the game and play the character set to receive the item, add the item to their character sheet, and then set the attribute needed in the item's action. |
